How it all started

I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, and in 2005 I decided to turn my passion for my city into a full-time job. Since then, I’ve guided thousands of travelers through Rio’s famous landmarks and hidden gems — always focusing on safety, comfort and creating meaningful experiences.

What people say about me

People often describe me as calm, kind, flexible, patient, and highly professional. I love adapting the tour to each person’s rhythm and interests. Oh — and yes, I’m a great driver too!

Your ride

I drive a private, clean, air-conditioned vehicle with plenty of space and tinted windows. Ideal for Rio’s warm climate.

“Marcio didn’t just guide us through Rio — he made us feel safe, welcome, and completely at ease from the very first moment. His calm energy and deep knowledge turned a regular day of sightseeing into something truly memorable.”

Let’s plan your tour

Why go private

Rio is extraordinary. The way you experience it should be too.

Rio rewards good timing. Reach Christ the Redeemer before the crowds build, catch Sugarloaf as the light turns, and know which corner of Santa Teresa serves the feijoada locals actually queue for.

With a private guide, the day bends around you. Marcio handles the route, the traffic and the timing in a comfortable air-conditioned car, so you can spend your energy on the city instead of the logistics.

On the route

The places you’ll see.

Eight landmarks Marcio combines into your day. The final route depends on your interests, the weather and the time you have.

Christ the Redeemer
01Corcovado Mountain

Christ the Redeemer

One of the New Seven Wonders of the World: a 30-metre statue completed in 1931. Arriving at the right time makes all the difference, and Marcio knows the photo angles most visitors miss.

Tijuca Forest
02Tijuca National Park

Tijuca Forest

A scenic drive through one of the largest urban forests in the world, with birdlife, viewpoints and waterfalls minutes from the city. A cool, green pause between landmarks.

Selarón Steps
03Lapa & Santa Teresa

Selarón Steps

More than 2,000 tiles from over 60 countries, laid by artist Jorge Selarón as his tribute to the Brazilian people. Marcio shares the stories behind them and helps you find a tile from home.

Metropolitan Cathedral
04Downtown Rio

Metropolitan Cathedral

A striking cone-shaped cathedral whose stained-glass windows rise more than 60 metres. Inside, modern architecture and spiritual calm meet in a space for up to 20,000 people.

Cinelândia Square
05Historic Center

Cinelândia Square

The cultural and political heart of old Rio, framed by the Municipal Theater and the National Library. A short stop that brings the city’s history into focus.

Sugarloaf Mountain
06Urca

Sugarloaf Mountain

Two cable-car rides to the summit, where city, sea and sunset share one view. Marcio handles the timing and tickets so you can simply enjoy it.

Maracanã Stadium
07Maracanã

Maracanã Stadium

One of the most famous football stadiums on Earth. Even non-fans feel the energy, with stories of legendary matches and the players who shaped Brazil’s national passion.

São Bento Monastery
08Downtown Rio

São Bento Monastery

A hidden Baroque gem with an interior covered in gold leaf, a calm contrast to the streets outside. Known for the Gregorian chant at its Sunday Mass.
